MISS J M KINGTON –
My partner already had a normal mountain bike which he added a battery to himself. I was thinking about buying a normal bike and doing the same. In the end decided to buy an e-bike, after looking on line. There are some really expensive ones and I really did not want to spend thousands of pounds on this. So settled on this one. Ordered my bike on Monday and it was not due until the following week, but to my surprise it came on the Friday. Well packaged and all pieces were there. It took my partner and I about an hour to assemble it. There was a lot of charge in the battery already so did not take long to fully charge up. Took the bike out and most of time had it on the first speed. Just right for helping you along. Going up a steep hill used the top speed and I was surprised how easy it made it. In the end we did a 23 mile bike ride, which you would find harder if you just did it on a normal bike. It was a so nice and did not ache at all after. But saying that it is easy to pedal without using the assisted speeds as well. On the battery there is 5 light levels, I used 2 of them. The battery took about 2 hours to fully recharge. Been on a couple of little rides and all was OK. I also brought a wicker basket to go on the front and it sets it off lovely. A really lovely ladies bike and a real joy to go out on. We hope to take our bikes to different places over the summer (covid permitting), and see lots of the countryside you would not normally see. As when driving in a car you tend to take a direct route. It will be interesting to see over the next few months how the battery will last. But first impressions are really good.

Great bike, easy to assemble, very very sturdy build. Best fun on a bike ever, easy to use the gears, very comfy seat, handle bars at a great position so no back ache either, got a great stand on it to rest it and the bike wrack is good, i’ve added a saddle bag to it for my stuff. Gives me confidence to go out and ride it anywhere, i’m in my fifties and not an exercise person but I love this and can’t wait to go on many many more bike rides in Britain.

I have damaged by knee and I was told that cycling would be good exercise. I had an old mountain bike, but when I tried to ride it, I found it too much effort and especially trying to get my leg over the bike was difficult. Hence, I started looking at ebikes. Not cheap of course and with me needing something that was not a traditional mountain bike or gents bike with a bar on the top, the options were limited. I found this one and it ticks various of the boxes, like step through frame so easy to get on and off, good size battery, optional throttle, aluminium frame, so “light” (although no ebike is exactly light). Went for it and the bike arrived in a couple of days. The guy who delivered it was either having a really bad day or spoke no English and cared nothing for the packages he delivered. He turned up at my door and I said politely that I would open the garage so he could put it in there. He turned on his heel and just disappeared without a word, then as I opened the garage he came up the drive with the big box on his shoulder (I was sure two people would be delivering it due to the size, but he seemed to be managing on his own). I asked if it could be put at the back of the garage, at which point he basically threw it down on the ground on the end of the box (it had arrows clearly showing “up” was not the end of the box) and shoved a mobile device in my hand and gesticulated at the screen – signature required. Once I had signed, he picked it up, dumped it at the back of the garage and then departed. All without uttering a single word! Anyway, clearly the manufacturer expected the delivery people to be less than gentle, so it was very well packed and did not appear to have suffered any damage. It was quite easy to put together, but who assembled it had over-tightened the front wheel bearing and so I had to get a cone spanner and re-adjust that. I also noticed after riding it some that the gears were not changing cleanly at times, so I have also adjusted those. The step through frame is great and makes getting on and off very easy. The controller is very basic, but does the job. It has three power settings and I only notice a difference between power 1 and 2. Power 3 seems the same as power 2. The saddle is actually very comfortable and I like the upright cycling position of this bike. The frame also seems solidly constructed. After a couple of short trips I came back and noticed a nut fell off and rolled across the floor. Took me a while to figure out where it came from, but to my horror, I found out that virtually all the fastening nuts for the battery holder had undone. Most were of course missing. They obviously had not been done up properly during assembly. I found some replacements in my collection and used them. I also checked all other nuts on the bike, but everything else seemed fine. Like a lot of other ebikes, this one has no torque sensor, so you basically get “all or nothing” power assist, with power 2 still assisting a higher speeds than power 1. If I had known a bit more, I might have tried to get a bike with the torque sensor. I have also heard that fitting the throttle can help, since you can then control how much power is provided. However, due to ridiculous UK ebike laws, fitting the throttle makes it a true EV and it is no longer able to ridden as a bicycle. I get that there are many of these high powered electric motorbikes that people are calling ebikes and riding around at dangerous speeds. However, they are totally different things from EAPCs and I see no reason why using the throttle on a EPAC is an issue. Indeed, I have seen various reviews saying that the throttle actually makes the bikes easier to control and safer! Anyway, I guess it is what it is. Overall, I am very happy with the bike and I can get out and exercise my dodgy knee without overdoing it. Although I have not yet checked what the range is, for what I need it is plenty. I have only had to charge the battery twice so far and been riding it a couple of miles most days.

I bought it a few days ago, so the review will need to be updated in the future. Till now… It arrived earlier than expected, well packaged. It took my two hours to assemble it, but I had never done this before. It’s heavy but not impossible to handle. It’s a strong bike.I took it out for a ride in the rain (I’ve read questions on whether it will have a problem or not), and all worked fine! The place I live is not flat, but the bike made my life a lot easier! It is easy to handle, the gears and the electric mode. Lights (which are included in the package) are good.My only problem is that I need to climb some stairs in order to get home, and this is a bit difficult for me because the bike is heavy and I weight 57 kilos. However, I suppose it’s a matter of habbit. I am 1.62 height and it is very comfortable.I recommend it for sure!

It was easy to assemble and makes for a well built solid bike – The battery lasts well and it is easy to check the battery life. With the 4 options when using electric assist, it means that I have choices over how much pedal work I want to put into it and it is easy to change gears, and electrical assist. The large tires make for a more comfortable ride and the bike stand also makes it ease to park up. I think it is value for money.
