OK, I don’t normally leave reviews and am a bit of a cynic when it comes to “wonder poducts”. But wow. Seriously. This genuinely makes getting tyres on and off a bike so much easier.I had a bit of a disaster on a recent race with 3 punctures in about 20km. Not had any all year, then 3 come along at once. The time and effort to get my race tyres on and off with tyre levers and cold wet hands was horrendous. No one would describe me as a mechanic but I know what I am doing with the basics, it was just grim.Afterwards, I was in the process of buying some new tyres when I saw this, watched the video, read the reviews and thought “why not?”.I have now replaced my tyres using this and can honestly say it was a breeze. Not fiddly, not requiring strong hands, brute force or most amazing of all, any swearing. After I had replaced the first tyre, I got the hang of it. Removing the second tyre took around 15 seconds, without any rushing or great effort. Getting the new tyre on took about the same. Mind blown. My advice if you are going to buy this1 Watch the video.2 to take the tyre off hold the wheel away from you, pinch the tyre rims towards you and lift the far tyre rim a fraction. You can then get the tool under it easily. From that point it is literally a few seconds to run the tool around the tyre and remove the first side.3 to put the tyre back on I find I can hold it in the air in one hand and run the tool around with the other, but you can place on the ground and use your weight for the last bit of getting the tyre on. It doesn’t take brute force, but there is a little bit of effort on that last bit.Apologies for a long ramble of a review. Simply put this is faster, easier and just less fiddly to use than tyre irons.

Trying to fit a new set of tyres (Schwalbe durano) to my road bike, I’m embarassed to say I punctured 3 inner tubes in succession using tyre levers. I don’t know if this is an exceptionally tight tyre, but I’ve never had quite this problem with replacing tyres before. I was tearing my hair out, so decided to try this and glad I did. It’s had mixed reviews here, so obviously not a wonder product that works for everyone every time. In contrast to some reviewers I did find it easy to remove the tyre with this device, but getting it back on was a bit of a struggle to say the least – it certainly didn’t ‘glide’ on like the videos promise, and took the full force of my 13 stone behind the device to ‘slip’ the last section onto the rim. Also, I had to use a glove to stop it digging into my hand. However, it did get the job done with no pinching of the tube, so it’s given me the confidence to know that I can do this out on the road, albeit with a bit of sweating and cursing! I don’t know how it would stack up against some of the other devices out there, but for me it has replaced tyre levers, at least until I find something better.

I bought some new tyres for my bike and they were a nightmare to get on. Snapped a few tyre levers, metal leavers were scratching the wheel and I wrestled for ages to get them on the rim only to pinch the inner tube and puncture it.I was looking for something to make the job easier and not damage my wheels, saw this and watched a few videos and thought I would give it a go. It wasn’t great at getting the tyre off, I went back to my metal levers for that. But I could not believe how well it worked it getting the tyre back on the wheel. It just slipped it straight back on with minimal effort. One of the best cycling related items I have ever bought. Buy it and save yourself so much time and effort.

This tool is amazing at removing and installing extremely tight tyres.I have a road bike with 700c extra wide rims and 25mm tyres the combination is so tight it took 2 hours to put a the pair on with tyre levers. The technique for the hardest part of installing is to put the wheel between your legs when standing hook the glider on near the top of the rim and push with the base of your palm using an almost locked out arm. Work in 5-10cm sections. Literally takes 10 seconds to put on the tightest tyre I’ve ever encountered.Only negative is its quite hard to dig the glider under the bead when you first start the removal, i still prefer levers for that first bit then switch to the glider.I would not been able to change a tube at the side of the road previously, now I would relish it haha.

I mulled over getting this for a while but I’m really glad I did.I have a set of 40mm Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus tyres which are a nightmare to put on/remove.With the Tyre Glider it’s so much easier. It lives in my saddle bag now. Highly recommend.
